Speech & Language Assessment

Understanding your child

A clear picture of your child's communication skills and abilities.

At Rainbow Speech Language Clinic, we offer both formal and informal assessments — using standardized tools alongside culturally sensitive, play-based methods to ensure a well-rounded and meaningful understanding of your child.

Option one

Formal Speech & Language Assessment

Formal assessments use standardized assessment tools alongside informal, culturally sensitive methods to ensure a comprehensive and meaningful understanding of your child's communication skills.

A written report outlining assessment findings, strengths, and individualized recommendations is provided. Reports can also be used as part of a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment, including private assessments for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Direct assessment includes

  • Case history
  • Parent interview
  • Standardized assessment
  • Report writing

Option two

Informal Speech & Language Assessment

Informal assessments are usually part of your child's initial evaluation. Our therapists use observations, along with play-based and natural interactions, to understand your child's current language skills and set personalized therapy goals.

The review of recent assessments of your child is also included. If you would like a written report after an informal assessment, it can be prepared for an additional fee.
